Zara is launching a beauty collection and we’re going to be spending up

Zara is launching a debut comprehensive beauty collection in their Melbourne store, which will also be available online from May 12. This is what you need to know.

When we’re told our go-to house of fashion, Zara, is launching a debut beauty range globally, we can’t help but feel our hearts beat a little faster.

Available at the Melbourne Chadstone store and also online from May 12, the collection of products for eyes, lips, face and nails is the result of deep thought and collaboration.

For more than a year, Zara has been working with New York-based makeup artist Diane Kendal. Based in Spain, the Zara HQ and Diane have built this entire line through virtual meetings and remote working – which is a feat in itself.

Kendal, a British-born makeup extraordinaire, has previously worked with Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein on their product lines.

Her legendary looks have walked the runways for Chloé, Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta, YSL, Proenza Schouler, Balenciaga and Tom Ford. So – it’s safe to say her credentials check out.

Certified cruelty-free, much of the packaging in the Zara range is also refillable, which is a factor designed to decrease the waste from used beauty products across the world.

New York and Paris based creative agency, Baron & Baron, have developed the custom packaging, which is inspired by the “Z” in the Zara logo – the entire line is on a slant.

The contemporary, white packaging is très elegant.

The product inside is designed to suit a wide range of people– something very important when the products are being shipped out across the world.

“When Zara approached me to lead the creative direction of Zara Beauty, I saw an opportunity to make something that everyone would want to use,” said Kendal of the line she has created.

“Zara has always reached such a diverse audience, and I wanted to bring that same big vision to beauty with a collection that is clean, refillable and accessible to all.”

“To have this breadth of color and sense of playfulness, while also being clean and using high-quality ingredients, is something that hasn´t really existed before,” she adds.

Each product is made with high performance ingredients, clean formulas, refillable packaging and over 130 colours.
