When it comes to skincare, spending more doesn’t always mean a better product. Body+Soul’s beauty editor Kelsey Ferencak shares her go-to buys that you can pick up at the supermarket.
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt after years living as a beauty editor, it’s that you don’t have to spend big on skincare for good skin. There are tonnes of science-backed, hardworking and solution-focused products on the market that are under $100, in fact there’s plenty under $30.
If you haven’t already, you should read this piece I wrote literally called, ‘Sorry but you’re probably spending too much on skincare’, where a skin scientist shares exactly where to spend and where to save – and you’ll probably be surprised.

As a general rule of thumb, I don’t think you need to bother spending more than $25-30 on a cleanser, sunscreen or moisturiser (I’ve included some outside of this price range, because they’re worth it) – and you can shop for these at the pharmacy or supermarket. Here is a LIST of my approved budget buys.
