Always wanted to know how Pharrell ages so gracefully? Us too. He’s finally revealed his skincare secrets, including launching his own skincare line, Humanrace.
If you’re a Pharrell fan, you’ll know he’s always been into skincare – and if you didn’t, you can tell just by looking at him. He’s literally looked the same age forever. A lot of ageing gracefully comes down to hitting the jackpot with good genes. However, a steady skincare routine (including sun protection and not smoking) can certainly help.

In 2014 he told Time Out, “How do I stay so young-looking for a 40-year-old? I wash my face.” Which had the internet burning to know more.
In 2017 he shared with Dazed that he’s all about exfoliating. “I exfoliate like a madman. When you exfoliate and you drink a lot of water, that does good for you. To me, the key is just exfoliating, like a monster. There’s a lot of dead skin. All the time,” he said.
Finally after 20 years of public curiosity (and his own personal experiences dabbling in lotions and potions), he’s spilling his secrets – in the form of his own skincare line, Humanrace.
The genderless, vegan skincare line is also clean and was developed with his longtime dermatologist Dr Elena Jones. “We wanted to choose ingredients that are clean, effective and friendly for all skin types,” she says.
“This routine is formulated from Pharrell’s skin-care experience… We adhered to the European standard of 1,300 banned ingredients as an important starting point and then we went further to develop our own restrictions. We worked to create products that had no rocks, nuts, seeds or plastic particles in our formulas to ensure no microtears occur which can result in damaging your skin.”
Launching on November 25 with a trio of products, including a rice powder cleanser, lotus enzyme exfoliator and snow-mushroom humidifying cream – they make up the steps for his three minute facial routine. “It’s created to take three minutes morning and night,” Pharrell shared. “Your face is the result of the spirit behind it; it’s important to take care of your skin and to also take time for yourself each day.”
If you’re worried about yet another skincare brand launching into an already saturated market – and a planet already struggling with waste, don’t be. The line is said to be earth-friendly, housed in post-consumer recycled and refillable packaging. Pharrell’s ticking all the boxes.
