Sophie Monk is Australia’s sweetheart, she’s funny, relatable and down to earth – which is refreshing in this space! Here, the entertainer shares with us and insight into her PM routine.
What’s the first thing you do to wind down before bed?
Nothing relaxes me more than sitting down to binge whatever series I’m into at that moment. Right now it’s Crime Watch – I’m obsessed.
And the last thing you do before you go to sleep?
I can’t go to sleep without having some background noise, I love the sound of the ocean so most nights I will put this on before I fall asleep.
Talk us through your night time routine…
My routine usually differs depending on where I am and what I might be doing the next day. If I am washing my hair before a shoot, I will use Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Everyday Shampoo and Conditioner and this leaves my blonde looking icy not brassy. I also can’t moisturise enough, so I always make sure to put a healthy layer all over my body and face every night. If my hair has been heat styled all week, I will cover my hair in conditioner and sleep with it in my hair as a nourishing mask.
Do you take any supplements or sleep-aids?
I’ve tried meditating but I’m far too wired to sit still for more than a minute but listening to ocean sounds before bed is my form of meditation. I also love really soft lighting at night, I have fairy lights through my home which really helps me wind down before bed.
What do you sleep on?
I don’t actually sleep on anything special, just a good old cotton pillowcase!
What’s your stance on technology before bed?
I wish I had the self-discipline to switch off my devices before bed! I definitely watch too much YouTube, I’m a bit of an over thinker so I like to distract myself.
Do you have a preferred or go-to late night snack (if any)?
Late night food is my bloody favourite. I don’t go for the classic delivery pizza, instead I like to microwave a brownie – I have a line of brownies with Slim Secrets that are my absolute favourite thing at the moment.
What time do you usually hop into bed?
I work all over the place, so every day is different. I don’t have a set bedtime but I always like to get 8 hours sleep regardless
What do you do if you can’t drift off or have trouble sleeping – do you have a go-to fix?
If I’m having trouble sleeping, it’s usually because the temperature isn’t right. I have a fan right next to my bed because I’m terrible with aircon and I DJ the temp to extremes.
