This season’s biggest makeup and mani trend requires minimum effort but gives off maximum impact.
This season’s nail and makeup trends are achievable, accessible and don’t break the bank. Squiggly lines, shapes and contrasting eyeshadow and nail polish colours suit sunkissed summer skin (and not the sunburn kind, ahem) as your complexion can hold bold hues and shimmery finishes.

If eyeshadow isn’t your forte, apply with a light hand and draw a thin line across the upper eyelid and brow bone for a less-is-more approach. For a bolder take on the trend, try a thicker or more angular line. If your skin tone is fair play around with shades of green, blue and orange to find your ideal match – or stick to flattering metallic. Medium to darker complexions suit highly pigmented and electric shades from pink to white.

Nail shades are more forgiving, bright or pastel shades suit all skin tones – just choose a complimentary colour to your eye look. If you’re a gel mani enthusiast, your nail artist should be able to replicate this look, or DIY with a toothpick.
Try: Mecca Max Hot Tips Nail Polish in Code Blue ($8, at MECCA), W7 Nail Enamel in Fluorescent Orange ($2.99, at Chemist Warehouse) and OPI Infinite Shine 2 in Withstands the Test of Thyme ($22.95, at Myer)
